How to determine price of Tourmaline

The price of a tourmaline is influenced by a variety of factors. Like many minerals, tourmaline does not have a set price; one need be aware of the following:
Physical Characteristics
Color: Tourmalines that are multicoloured will cost several times more than those that are less colourful.
Determines whether a mineral has a non-metallic or metallic sheen and, if so, how dull or light-reflective it is.
A clear tourmaline will be more valuable than one with less clarity or translucence, which is another term for clarity.
Tourmaline that is weak or breakable is disliked by collectors and jewellers;
Size
Combination refers to crystals and specimens; a tourmaline crystal with the addition of another mineral, such as quartz, kunzite, or apatite, is worth more than one without.
